RPP Chairman Lingden demands independent election govt

KATHMANDU, June 15: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lindgen has put forward a proposal to form an independent election government.


Speaking in parliament on Wednesday, Chairman Lingden demanded immediate formation of an independent election government to make the forthcoming provincial assembly and house of representatives elections independent, fair and free of rigging.

He said that the current government should agree to form an independent electoral government if there is faith in democracy, freedom and fairness of elections as the date of the election will be announced soon.


“We are at the final session of our terms. If this government has faith in democracy, freedom and fairness, then the date of election is being announced soon. On behalf of the RPP, I would like to demand the formation of an independent electoral government to make the election free, fair and free of rigging,” Lingden said.


Furthermore, Lingden repeatedly warned the government not to reach an agreement with the US regarding the State Partnership Program (SPP), adding that it is a threat to nationality.
