ROLPA, April 30: Two children have been rescued from a brick kiln located at Changunarayan of Bhaktapur.
13 – year – old Deepak Dangi and Subash Dangi from Hwama of Rolpa municipality – 9 were rescued while working at the brick kiln with help from the Child Development Society, Bhaktapur.
Child Conservation Officer, Bharat Thapa, said the organization found the boys of school-going age working at the brick kiln and decided to rescue them. The children were handed over to their parents under the patronage of the Rolpa municipality.
Rolpa municipality's Mayor Purna KC said the boys rescued from Bhaktapur were handed over to their parents under the municipality's responsibility.
The boys who attended the final exams of grade four in March ran away to join their sisters working at the brick kiln, Mayor KC shared. An estimated total of 400 children from Rolpa are currently working in brick kilns as they come from poor economic background.
