GULMI, April 29: The Ridi-Tamghas road section of Gulmi will undergo a month-long closure from today. The District Administration Office (DAO) has issued a notice and requested travel using alternative routes as the Ridi-Tamghas road section will be closed.
It is mentioned in the notice issued by the DAO that the road will be closed from 10AM to 4PM and from 10PM to 4AM from April 29 to May 30. The closure is necessary for rock excavation and grade adjustments along certain sections of the road.
Ridi fair sees transaction of over Rs 370 million
The ongoing upgrade of the 25 km stretch from Ridi to Baletaksar under the Madan Bhandari Highway includes road paving and widening efforts.
The narrow and deteriorated main road leading to the Gulmi district headquarters, Tamghas, will be expanded to 7.75 meters in width. A previous month-long closure was implemented in March to facilitate road widening.
The contract was signed for road upgrading and black-topping on March 12, 2023, and the work is expected to be completed by March 9, 2026.
