Forty-one- year old Kedar Neupane is a chatpatey (snack) seller. Originally from Bhakunde, Kavrepalanchok, Kedar came to Kathmandu leaving behind the teaching job at his locale as the money he earned was barely enough to sustain his family.

Forty-one- year old Kedar Neupane is a chatpatey (snack) seller. Originally from Bhakunde, Kavrepalanchok, Kedar came to Kathmandu leaving behind the teaching job at his locale as the money he earned was barely enough to sustain his family.


He was a 23-year-old lad, and married when he first came to Kathmandu. He is currently residing in Jaisidewal, and works as a food vendor selling tit-bits in his three-wheeled carrier.

He says, “My wife does the same work, and this has helped to sustain my life. I hope to see my children successful in whatever career they choose.


I have no objection for any kind of work because I believe in respecting all professions.” Kedar and his wife have three kids.
