Relocation of quake-hit families begins in Rasuwa

RASUWA, July 9: Relocation of at least 236 households from different quake hit areas of Rasuwa district to safer locations of Bogatitar VDC has finally begun since Monday. The settlements from Haku VDC-8 and 9 and Dandagaun VDC-8 and 9 are under increased threat of landslides as fissures and cracks have developed in the areas following the April 25 earthquake.

Seventy-two households from Haku VDC-8 and 9 and 165 from Dandagaun VDC-8 and 9 are being relocated to Bogatitar of Laharepauwa VDC-1, according to District Disaster Relief Committee (DDRC), Rasuwa.


 

Chief District Officer (CDO) Shivram Gelal informed that the DDRC has decided to relocate quake affected people from vulnerable areas to five different safe locations.
