Regular monitoring of meat shops necessary: Supplies Minister Pun

KATHMANDU, July 8: Minister for Supplies Ganesh Man Pun today stressed the need for regular monitoring of meat shops in the Kathmandu Valley.

KATHMANDU, July 8: Minister for Supplies Ganesh Man Pun today stressed the need for regular monitoring of meat shops in the Kathmandu Valley. 


The statement by Pun follows a monitoring carried out by a monitoring team from the Kathmandu District Administration Office and the Department of Supplies at a slaughter house named 'Moj Meat' today at Satungal. In course of the monitoring, the team found the meat meant for sale at the meat shop inedible with germs in it.

Talking to media persons after the monitoring, the Minister said that no one has right to sale any goods and essentials that affect health of people.

"Anybody found to be doing so will be booked," he added. 


The Minister said that preparations were underway to seal off the meat shop as it was found to be running without proper management. 


The team also monitored some meat shops in Kalimati and Teku today. RSS
