Re-count of ballot papers in Rangeli Municipality

MORANG, July 6: The all-party meeting has decided to re-count the ballot papers of the ward no. 6 of Rangeli Municipality as the Nepali Congress (NC) expressed its dissatisfaction over the final result.

MORANG, July 6: The all-party meeting has decided to re-count the ballot papers of the ward no. 6 of Rangeli Municipality as the Nepali Congress (NC) expressed its dissatisfaction over the final result.

The row came out as the NC rejected the final result of post of deputy-mayor came out on Friday afternoon following the end of the votes counting. The party had claimed that the party has won the post by three votes.  Radha Devi Mandal of NC scored 5708 votes whereas Keshav Kumari Kharel of CPN (MC) has won by 12 votes with 5720 votes.


The all-party meeting was held following the accusation by the NC cadres citing that the party’s representatives were sent out from the counting hall while the final vote counting was being done. The party has suspected of manipulation during the counting.
