According to Hari Prasad Pokharel, secretary at Province Assembly Secretariat, the parliamentary party and the party both have sent letters regarding the removal of Thapa from the post of parliamentary party leader.
Thapa was removed from the post of parliamentary party leader after he went against the party’s direction, said Piyari Thapa, whip of Rastriya Janamorcha Party in the provincial assembly.
Earlier, Thapa had objected to forming a new government in the province under the leadership of the main opposition party, Nepali congress (NC). His objection prevented the NC from garnering majority votes in the provincial assembly to form a new government. However, two other lawmakers of Rastriya Janamorcha Party voted in support of NC.
The party is preparing to sack Thapa as a member of the provincial assembly as well, according to sources.
