Mayanka Rana and Utsavi Joshi had an easy passage to the quarterfinals as both of them received walkovers from their opponents.

Meanwhile, the pre-quarterfinal match of the same age group between Alsa Regmi and Medhavi Giri was cancelled due to strong winds, according to tennis coach Surya Bhushan Bajracharya.

“We had to cancel the late matches because of strong winds,” Bajracharya told Republica.

“The first set was already completed but we couldn´t continue. We will resume the match tomorrow from where we had left it,” he added.

Bajracharya said the weather did not allow them to conduct three U-14 boys´ singles matches as well.

Earlier, Saksham Karki defeated Subham Chaudhary 6-3, 6-0 to make it to the semifinals of U-14 boys´ singles. Anjan Thing also reached the last four beating Bardan Pokharel 6-2, 6-2 in another quarterfinal match.

Subedi was joined in the last four by Samten Baidya, Ranav Singh and Aki Juben Rawat.
