KATHMANDU, July 28: Rajendra Kumar Raut has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA). The position was vacant since last month.
According to Executive Chairman of Non-Resident Nepali Association Dr Badri KC, Raut was appointed to the vacant post after Rabi Kiran Adhikari resigned last month.

Raut was recommended at number two by the CEO selection organized by the association. According to the staff rules of the association, Raut was automatically appointed after the number one official left the post.
Earlier, Raut had played an important role in rescuing Nepalis living abroad during the Coronavirus pandemic. Under his leadership, more than 30,000 Nepalis were rescued from Middle East countries during the pandemic.
Last year, four candidates were selected for an interview for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position of the association.
In the CEO selection committee, the working committee chaired by Kul Acharya, Rabina Thapa, Dr Badri KC, General Secretary Dr Keshav Paudel, Gauriraj Joshi and Vice President Mahesh Shrestha were present.
Similarly, Bhim Udas, Eknath Khatiwada and Anal Raj Bhattarai were kept as experts. He was appointed by the association based on the recommendation of the selection committee. He will take up his duties at NRNA's central office from Friday.
