Although vehicular movement along the roads in Helambu Rural Municipality resumed in the afternoon, problems have surfaced due to obstruction of road almost everyday due to heavy rainfall.

The Melamchi Valley Campus, Gyalthum is also at high risk due to the rainfall. As the rivulet is flowing close to the campus these days, locals fear that the campus structures might be damaged by the swollen rivulet at any time.

People living close to the bank of the stream from Kiul up to Melamchi have not been able to sleep well these days. "The flood is damaging the road day by day. We have been repairing it. The vehicular movement has been obstructed only for some time. We are vigorously working to reopen the road and protect the structures that are at risk," said Chairman of Helambu Rural Municipality Nima Gyalzen Sherpa said.

A massive landslide that occurred at Ramche of Melamchi municipality has blocked the road. Mayor Aitaman Tamang said an excavator has been sent to the landslide site to remove the debris and resume vehicular movement.
