KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the chairman of the main opposition party CPN (Maoist Center), has said that Rabi Lamichhane could be granted release on his own recognizance in connection with the ongoing investigation into a cooperative fraud case.
While in Chitwan on Tuesday, Dahal said that Lamichhane, who is under investigation for his involvement in the cooperative fraud case, might be released on his own recognizance. He further said, “I have told the government and the leaders of governmental parties why they should have to keep him in custody, he could have been released on recognition.”

He further stated that the governmental parties do not have to be afraid of Lamichhane. “Whatever investigation needs to be done, it can be done. Rabi himself has said he is ready to accept the court’s decision, so why should the government parties be so afraid ?”
