Kaski Court orders release of RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane on Rs 6.5 million bail

The Kaski District Court has ordered the release of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane on bail of Rs 6.5 million in connection with the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case.

KATHMANDU, Jan 9:  The Kaski District Court has ordered the release of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane on bail of Rs 6.5 million in connection with the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case. 


The decision came on Thursday following the conclusion of closed arguments before Judge Nitij Rai. The case revolves around the embezzlement of cooperative funds, with Lamichhane and several others, including former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, facing charges. The District Government Attorney’s Office has also filed charges of organized crime and money laundering against Lamichhane, along with 18 other individuals.

The case has drawn significant attention due to the involvement of prominent figures, and the investigation is ongoing.
