KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman and Former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who was arrested in a cooperative fraud case, will be presented before the Kaski District Court today.
Lamichhane is being presented in court after his 13-day remand period ended. Lamichhane, who was arrested from Kathmandu on October 18, is currently in the custody of the Kaski police. He is accused of embezzling funds from the Surya Darshan Cooperative in Pokhara and misappropriating them in Gorkha Media Pvt Ltd.

A complaint has been filed against Lamichhane, along with Gorkha Media's chairman GB Rai, director Chhabilal Joshi, Kumar Ramtel, and others for embezzling around Rs 50 million from Suryadarshan Cooperative. Currently, investigations are ongoing against all of them except GB Rai.
Meanwhile, the Chitwan District Court issued arrest warrants on November 22 against Rabi Lamichhane and 10 others in connection with the Sahara Cooperative case. The RSP has claimed that the arrest of its chairman is politically motivated.
