He praised the contributions of Nepali workers to Qatar’s development and prosperity and referred to the historic visit of His Highness the Emir to Nepal in April of this year, which reflected the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The visit also witnessed the signing of eight MoUs and agreements for cooperation between the governments of the two nations, according to a press statement issued by the Embassy of Qatar in Nepal. On the occasion, Ambassador Al-Ansari reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to supporting Nepal’s aspirations for prosperity and deepening the bonds between the two nations.

Qatar’s National Day is observed every year on December 18, commemorating the unification of Qatar under its founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, whose leadership unified Qatar into a single cohesive entity in 1878. That historic event laid the foundation for the modern State of Qatar as a unified, independent nation. Qatar National Day is a time to honor the legacy of Sheikh Jassim Al-Thani, who envisioned and established the State of Qatar as it exists today.

Throughout December, various celebrations and events are held to introduce Qatar’s heritage and honor the authentic customs and traditions of the Qatari community, enhancing the pride of the state, according to the Embassy.
