President Bhandari observes Qatar National Library

DOHA, Oct 31: President Bidya Devi Bhandari, who is on a four-day official visit to Qatar, observed the Qatar National Library and the National Museum of Qatar on Wednesday.

DOHA, Oct 31: President Bidya Devi Bhandari, who is on a four-day official visit to Qatar, observed the Qatar National Library and the National Museum of Qatar on Wednesday. 


The digital library has more than 1 million books of different genre from different languages including English and Arabic. Besides, it has a recreation spot for children, said the library's employees.

Following the observation, the President expressed sadness over not finding any book in Nepali language in such big and well-equipped library. She drew the attention of the Nepali Embassy here towards the matter. 


Impressed by the library, the President stressed the establishment of such library in Nepal, and said a Nepali team would be sent to Qatar soon to carry out a study in this regard. On the occasion, President Bhandari signed the visitor's notebook. 


Likewise, Minister for Foreign Affairs, who accompanied the President here, said the library had friendly environment for reading and smooth management.
