Dear Sir,

I had applied for many jobs in the past month, and now I have to make a choice between two companies. One has offered me a better position and another better salary (but a low position). I'm in a big predicament because I need to decide really soon. Please help.

Dear Sabin, I would advise you to analyse your current personal profile before making the decision. Your priorities will depend on whether you are just starting your corporate career or if you already have few years of experience. It is important that the first few years of your job should give enough learning so that it can become a stepping stone for your future.

I would suggest you to give importance to the role and your job description which both the jobs can provide. If you have more learning in the first job but lesser pay it should be fine with you because learning can get you more jobs in future along with more money.

You should also consider which job has more career opportunity. It may be advisable to join an organisation which is relatively smaller, because in smaller teams you can show your potential and you as an individual get valued. You should also check with existing employees of both organizations about their work culture.

All the best.
