Doctors declared him brought dead at Care Medical Nursing Home, which is owned by Singhaniya himself.
Singhaniya, who was a renowned media entrepreneur and a social worker, is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.
According to the police, four assailants who came on two motorbikes had opened fire on Singhaniya who received two bullets in his head and one in the chest. The assailants fled the scene toward the east. They managed to elude the policemen who were standing just 50 meters away.
Dhanusha Police Chief SP Shyam Khadka said a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the killers. However, nobody had been detained immediately.

Singhaniya´s murder came a year after the murder of Uma Singh, a woman journalist who worked for Radio Today, owned by Singhaniya.
Singhaniya, a gentleman from the Marwari community in Janakpur, who had been running Care Medical Nursing Home for around 15 years, had purchased Janakpur Today eight years ago while the newspaper was into operation for only two years. The daily flourished as the largest selling daily of the city after Singhaniya took over.
He had established Radio Today three years ago. The radio is also a popular radio in the region.
