KATHMANDU, May 24: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has declared a public holiday in Kathmandu Valley on Thursday on the occasion of the Bhoto Jatra procession.

MoHA Spokesperson Jitendra Basnet in a statement on Wednesday said that a public holiday has been declared in three districts namely Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur on Thursday.
As part of the Rato Machhindranath Jatra held every year in Lalitpur, Bhoto Jatra is being held at Jawalakhel on Thursday. It is customary for the President to reach Jawalakhel during the Jatra and observe the Bhoto.
