KATHMANDU, June 15: The government of Province 1 has announced a budget of Rs 32.46 billion for the next fiscal year. Of the amount, Rs 15.05 (46.3 percent) has been allocated for capital expenditure. Giving priority to the health sector, the provincial government has earmarked Rs 3.25 billion for the improvement of the sector.

Announcing the budget, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Province 1, Tanka Angbuhang said the provincial government has earmarked Rs 440 million for the prevention measures of COVID-19. The province has separated funds of Rs 2.90 billion and Rs 1.19 billion for the agriculture and education sectors, respectively.
