Issuing a press release, Hami Nepal pointed out the corruption and politicization at the administration level to the upper level, leading to poor management and services for the patients at the hospital. “The plight of the patients and the hospital itself has touched its apex which is summarized by the dreadful situation of the hospital management, vulnerabilities of administration, lack of equipment, scarcity of beds, medicines, and essential medical supplies,” President Sudan Gurung of Hami Nepal mentioned in the press release. “The hospital is on the verge of collapse,” it further reads.

The organization is currently on the seventh day of their peaceful protest under the ‘Save Ghopa Camp’ campaign in Dharan. Stating that many people have lost their lives due the lack of basic facilities and substandard medicines used at the hospital, the organization has called for ending BPKIHS anomalies at the earliest.
