Speaking at a programme organized here to propose the area of Ratna Temple covering 177 ropanis of land as the heritage site and biodiversity park, DPM Gautam said all properties of former royal members were brought under Nepal Trust. And if these properties were utilized, huge income could be made for social development, he added.
According to him, if the properties under the Nepal government were not tended well, these could be handed to the private sector for the income generation and conservation.
Regional Administration Dinesh Kumar Thapaliaya said if the land under the Ratna Temple was not utilized on time, its preservation would be difficult.
Former chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anand Raj Mulmi, said a biodiversity park was planned in the land currently belonging to the Ratna Temple.
In 2011, then King Mahendra Shaha had constructed the Ratna Temple for his spouse Ratna Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah.
