Principal thrashed

SURKHET, May 20: Principal of Shiva Higher Secondary School Bala Ram Adhikari was severely thrashed by a few local youths on Thursday morning.



Adhikari, who sustained deep injuries in the head, has been taken to Lucknow, India, for treatment.



President of school management committee Binod Dhakal said Suman Batala, Dile Rokaya, Kamal Soni, Govinda Sapkota, Chetan Gurung and Pawan KC attacked Adhikari at 9 in the morning.



“They came and suddenly started beating up him without speaking anything,” Dhakal quoted an eyewitness as saying.



The school management has linked the attack on Adhikari´s refusal to admit two youths to the school in the absence of their guardians a few days ago.



Locals have handed over Batala to the police while search is on for the absconding five assailants.
