KATHMANDU, Sept 5: The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Bagmati Province, is resuming the driver's license examination from today. The written and practical (trial) examinations were postponed from April 28 due to the risk posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the ministry, the service will be available for the service seekers, who have applied for the trial examination after the written examinations. The service seekers must have completed the biometric obligations and are waiting for the practical examination (trial). This is applicable also to those who have failed the practical examination once and are attempting for the second time.

About 800,000 service recipients have been affected due to the decision of the government to halt the examinations across the country. Director General at the Department of Transport Management, Namaraj Ghimire, informed that the driver's license examinations will now be resumed.
According to the newly-unveiled standards, candidates must use masks and sanitizers in compliance with public health safety standards. Similarly, physical distance should be maintained without forming crowds during the examination, body temperature of the examinee should be measured before entering the examination center, extreme precautions should be taken while distributing question papers and attendance and the examination should be conducted in the stipulated time.
There is a provision in the criteria that the examinee who fails to appear within the stipulated time will be considered absent and will not be allowed to participate in the examination conducted in other shifts on the same day. Provision has been made for the candidates to provide information at least 24 hours before the examination is conducted about the day, shift and time of the practical examination. Only 50 candidates will be allowed to participate in one shift of any examination.
