Private sector allowed to conduct written exam for driving license

BHAKTAPUR, May 23: The Transport Management Office, Bhaktapur, has given permission to the private sector to conduct a written examination for driving license without informing concerned ministry of Bagmati Province.


The Office had granted permission to Budhathoki Trades and Training School Pvt Ltd, Madhyapurthimi, to conduct the written exam for driving license to be effective from today.

The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Transport of Bagmati Province shared that the Office Chief gave permission to the private sector against the rules.


Secretary at the Ministry, Asman Tamang,  said they have not got any information about the permission granted to the private sector to run the written exam for driving license.


He mentioned, "It was irregular if permission was given to the private sector to conduct a written exam for a driving license. It was not right to allow the private sector to conduct exams despite having its own exam center." No working procedure to grant permission to the private sector to conduct the exam has been formulated, he added.


However, Office Chief Shiva Kumar Niraula, claimed that permission was given to the private sector as per the working procedure.
