Police uncover 70 kg hashish hidden in truck

DARKHA (Dhading), June 7: The police in Gajuri on Tuesday morning confiscated a huge amount of hashish being transported to Narayangadh. 



Acting on a tip off, a team from the Area Police Office Gajuri led by Inspector, Varun Bahadur Singh, intercepted a LP Truck (Na 6 Kha 137) en route to Narayangadh at Benighat Bazaar along the Prithvi Highway at 4 am. During the checking, police found 70 kilograms of hashish. 



The police also arrested driver Krishna Bahadur Rai, 32, of Manhari rural municipality – 6 and assistant driver, Ayush Lama, 18, of the same locality. 



The hashish was hidden in a jute bag wrapped in tape, and kept carelessly at the truck's enclosed container, according to Inspector Singh. 



Truck driver Rai had returned from jail only last month after serving two years' sentence for transporting contraband. RSS
