Police open fire in Dhangadhi to arrest suspects, two injured

The incident took place in Bhajani Municipality-4 when officers attempted to detain the suspects. The injured individuals, identified as Ridam Dhungana and Milan Chand, sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

KATHMANDU, June 12: Police opened fire in Dhangadhi on Thursday, injuring two individuals during an operation to apprehend criminal suspects.


The incident took place in Bhajani Municipality-4 when officers attempted to detain the suspects. The injured individuals, identified as Ridam Dhungana and Milan Chand, sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

According to Kailali DSP Rajkumar Singh, the police were compelled to open fire after the suspects, allegedly involved in various criminal activities, attacked the officers during the arrest attempt.


An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
