Police, marijuana smugglers exchange fire in Siraha

SIRAHA, Nov 1: Police and a group of marijuana smugglers exchanged fire at Gobindapur VDC-8 of the district on Thursday morning.



The incident took place as police were trying to take the smugglers under control following a tip off that they were smuggling marijuana to India.[break]



Police fired back after the smugglers opened fired on them, according to Bikram Gurung, the district police chief. He added that there was no causality on the police side in the firing.



Police have also confiscated 150 kg Marijuana from them. Smugglers fled the scene after the incident.
