Bus plunges into Tamakoshi; 10 rescued, five critical

Of them, five are reportedly in critical condition.

KATHMANDU, Feb 10: A passenger bus (Pra 3-01-005 Kha 9975) en route to Pokali in Okhaldhunga via Dhobi, Ramechhap, from Kathmandu plunged into the Tamakoshi River on Tuesday, injuring ten passengers. Of them, five are reportedly in critical condition.



The bus fell into the river near the Machanetar area at around 11 AM, according to Information Officer Ram Bahadur KC at the District Administration Office, Ramechhap.

The injured are receiving treatment at Ramechhap District Hospital, he said.


Rescue efforts have been hampered as the bus is submerged in water. Teams from Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force have been deployed to the site. Details of any fatalities are yet to be confirmed.
