The six, all of them males aged between 16 and 27, had left their village 25 days ago and reached Nepal on Tuesday, according to the Dolakha District Police Office. The DPO said they will be handed over to the immigration authorities on Wednesday.

The number of Tibetans illegally sneaking into Nepali territory through Lamabagar had declined as compared to last year as police adopted strict measures to arrest them.

Police had beefed up security at Lamabagar after the Chinese government requested Nepal to tighten security along its border.
