PM Oli vows to address concerns of Suklaphanta National Park victims

KATHMANDU, Aug 2: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has vowed to address the concerns of those people who were forced to leave their homes while expanding the area of the then Suklaphanta National Park in the far western region of the country.

KATHMANDU, Aug 2: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has vowed to address the concerns of those people who were forced to leave their homes while expanding the area of the then Suklaphanta National Park in the far western region of the country.

During a meeting with lawmakers representing Federal Parliament and Provincial Assembly, the prime minister said that those local residents who were displaced due to the expansion of the national park would be relocated by the end of the current fiscal year.  PM Oli also said that the government will form a probe panel to resolve the matter.  He said that the government has yet to figure out the number of displaced people.


The parliamentarians urged the prime minister to make changes to the land and forest-related acts which are currently under the consideration at the parliament. Lawmaker Bhim Rawal led the parliamentary delegation during the meeting.
