KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed sorrow over the massive loss of lives and property caused by the flood in the Khiro Ganga River in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, India.
In a social media post on Friday, Oli said he was deeply concerned by reports that over 17 Nepali citizens are missing in the disaster. He informed that diplomatic talks were initiated immediately through the Nepali Embassy for their rescue.

Offering condolences to those who lost their lives in the flood and landslide, PM Oli wished strength to the bereaved families to endure the tragedy.
"I am deeply concerned by the tragic news of the massive loss of lives and property caused by the floods in our friendly neighboring nation, Uttarakhand, India. Reports indicate that more than 17 Nepali citizens have also been affected by the floods," he wrote.
"Diplomatic discussions were immediately initiated through the embassy for their rescue. I extend my condolences to all those who lost their lives in the flood and landslide and wish strength to the bereaved families to endure this grief," he said.
