PM directs Agriculture Ministry to address demands of agitating farmers in Chitwan

KATHMANDU, Feb 4: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has drawn the attention of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to appropriately address the issue of agitating farmers, who dumped several tons of vegetables in the streets for not getting a fair price.

KATHMANDU, Feb 4: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has drawn the attention of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to appropriately address the issue of agitating farmers, who dumped several tons of vegetables in the streets for not getting a fair price. 


Prime Minister Dahal has instructed them to take necessary steps to address the demands of the farmers.

After the farmers of Chitwan threw vegetables on the road saying that they were not getting fair prices for vegetables and other agricultural products, Prime Minister Dahal drew the attention of Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development Jwala Kumari Sah to address the demands.


Prime Minister Dahal has also instructed Minister Sah, who is in Chitwan, to discuss with the concerned farmers and inform her about it. 


Following the instructions of the Prime Minister, Minister Shah said that she will discuss with the concerned farmers and take necessary steps to solve the problem and if more policy support is required, she will request the Prime Minister.


After the agriculture minister returns from the discussions with the concerned farmers, the prime minister is also prepared to call the ministers, secretaries and other government officials for further discussions.
