On behalf of Consumers' Right Protection Forum-Nepal, Advocate Bhuwan Prasad Niraula filed the petition arguing that the government has not been providing adequate health facilities in the district despite the epidemic has been spreading.
The petitioner has demanded interim order for delivery of adequate number of doctors, health practitioners and medicines in Jajarkot within 24 hours and to provide progress report to the court every day.
The petitioner has also asked for mandamus order to guarantee skilled health practitioners and medicines permanently in the districts. Likewise, the petitioner has also asked to draft a separate law to address the health issues of the remote areas like Jajarkot.
The petitioner has named Ministry of Health and Population, Minister for Health and Population Khagaraj Adhikari, Health Service Department, Regional Health Directorate, Surkhet, District Health Office, Jajarkot, Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Legislative Parliament and National Human Rights Commission as defendants.
