KATHMANDU, April 2: The government has introduced relief packages targeting the people who have been hit hard by the lockdown orders.

Following the federal government’s instruction to the local levels to collect the data of affected families and provide them with necessary relief, ward offices of Lalitpur metropolitan city are distributing relief in various forms.

Fair price shops across country

When our photojournalist reached Patan Nakabhil of Lalitpur-6, people were seen gathered for buying daily essentials from a fair price shop set up by the ward office.

Although the country has entered the tenth day of nationwide lockdown to curb coronavirus on Thursday, neither the service seekers nor the concerned authorities are found to have been sincere in maintaining social distancing while selling and buying the goods.

Pictures apparently show negligence both on the part of customers and sellers as they are quite reluctant to maintain minimum physical distance which is one of the safety measures to avoid the spread of this deadly disease.
