Pashupati Trade Link bags dealership of Micromax smartphones

KATHMANDU, May 7: Pashupati Trade Link, the subsidiary of Murarka Group, has bagged dealership for Micromax smartphones in Nepal. “Now onwards, we will be distributing Micromax smartphones in the Nepali market,” Siris Murarka, director of Pashupati Trade Link, said.



After bagging the dealership, the company has launched Micromax A110 aka Canvas 2 and Micromax A116 aka Canvas HD in the high-end segment and A54 Ninja and A65 Smarty in the low-end segment.[break]



“We will launch Micromax A72 also known as Viva within 20 days,” said Murarka.



Both Canvas 2 and Canvas HD are 5-inch phones. Canvas 2 is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A9 dual-core processor with 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB through microSD card. It runs on Android v4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system which can be upgraded to Jelly Bean.



The phone has capacitive touchscreen with 480x854 pixels resolution. It sports 8 mega pixel rear camera and 0.3 mega pixels front camera for video conferencing.

“Around one million units of Canvas 2 have been sold in India since its launch in January. We are hopeful that the high quality and affordable price of the phone will attract Nepali customers as well,” said Murarka.



Canvas 2 is available in black and white color and costs Rs 17,000.



Similarly, Canvas HD is powered by a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor with 1GB RAM onboard, and PowerVR SGX544MP chip for processing graphics.



The phone runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system and has 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It sports 8 mega pixel auto focus rear camera and 2 mega pixels VGA front camera for video conferencing. The phone is available at Rs 24,000.



Ninja is a 3.5-inch phones that supports dual-SIM. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor, 512 MB RAM. It supports external memory up to 32 GB. The phone is priced at Rs 6,100.



Likewise, Smarty comes with a 4.3-inch screen and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor, 190 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB. The phone has 2 mega pixels rear camera and VGA front camera for video conferencing. It costs Rs 8,900.



Pashupati Trade Link has appointed dealers all over Nepal for sales and after sales service. “We provide one year warranty on handset and 6 months warranty on battery,” said Murarka.
