RAUTAHAT, Aug 21: At a time when local governments across the country are being criticized for collecting hefty taxes from the people, a municipality in Rautahat has raised eyebrows for providing dozens of services free of cost.
Paroha Municipality of the district has announced to provide various kinds of services free of cost. Without making the service seekers wait, the municipality and ward offices have already implemented the decision. From now onward, the municipality will not charge the service seekers for making recommendations of health, scholarship, disability among others.

Likewise, people can now register birth, death, marriage, migration and divorce free of cost, according to acting Administrative Chief Abdul Rab Ansari.
However, this is possible only if they are reported within 35 days. If reported after 35 days, service seekers will have to pay Rs 50.
