KATHMANDU, April 3: The parliamentary party of Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) has issued a directive to its lawmakers to vote in favor of Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah in the upcoming vote of confidence in Sudurpaschim Province.
Scheduled for Thursday, the vote of confidence has sparked internal conflict within the party, as Chairperson Ranjita Shrestha had initially issued a whip instructing lawmakers to oppose the Chief Minister.

In response, Chief Whip Khushi Ram Dangaura of the province’s parliamentary party has mandated all lawmakers to be present and cast their votes in support of CM Shah.
There are seven lawmakers from NUP in the Provincial Assembly, including five serving as ministers.
