Thanking political parties for the responsibility shown in endorsing the regulations, Speaker Gharti expressed the belief that the consensus and understanding would continue in the days ahead.

The regulations were approved after a nine-months-long effort, with most of the differences focusing around the number of members of the hearing committee. The formation of the 15-member committee now paves the way for hearing of the ambassadors and judges recommended for appointment.

The parliamentary hearing committee can reject any recommendation with a two-third majority. RSS
