Palpa upgrades roads as banda continues

PALPA, Dec 9: Roads are being upgraded in Palpa during the banda enforced by political parties.


 The political parties are stressing for up-gradation of roads during banda saying that it is a suitable time for road upgradation as there are no vehicles plying on the road during this period.

 Local political parties have been enforcing banda for the last 10 days protesting against the constitution amendment bill that proposes to split five hill districts from Province 5.


  As long as 6.25 km long including Buspark-Mission Eye Hospital, Gaurishankar-Holangdi, Bandevi-Laxmi School, Prabhas-Baghkhor road sections are being upgraded. 


The road upgradation is underway at the cost of Rs 91.092 million under the assistance of Urban Governance and Development Project: Emerging Town Project (UGDP-ETP).


Biruwa Nirman P. Ltd is the contractor of the road upgradation.  


According to Dharmendra Thakur, engineer of the construction company, the task of upgradation will be completed if there is no disruption in the work from banda enforcers.
