KK Karmacharya, chancellor of NAFA, attended the workshop as the chief guest. Karmacharya inaugurated the workshop by painting Swayambhunath Stupa on a blank canvas, wishing for world peace. While inaugurating, Chancellor Karmacharya said that this program is very new for Nepal. He stated that this workshop, being held shortly after the establishment of Nepal Chapter of Delphic Council, is very important and it will introduce Nepal to the world.
According to Sridev BL (Baburam Aryal), the founder president of NDCN, the canvas prepared by the participants in the painting workshop will be presented at various international art exhibitions on behalf of Nepal. He said, “This is one of the major campaigns being conducted by the NDCN for the access and participation of Nepal's art sector and artists at the international level. It is our effort to make Nepali art and culture globally recognizable by covering all genres of art and to strengthen our rich art.”
Jiwan Kumar Parajuli, vice president of NDCN as well as the program director of the workshop, said that he took the painting workshop as an opportunity to develop the skills of students and artists who are interested in the field of art and gain international recognition. He added that he will play a role in globalizing the heritage of Nepal's art and culture through painting based on the art and culture of Nepal.
NDCN’s Goodwill Ambassador and artist Captain Vijay Lama said that this kind of painting workshop will help Nepal's art and culture to be known around the world. “It is not a small thing to present a painting by many artists on the same canvas. Art, literature, and culture give us our identity. I am confident that today's workshop will give Nepal a new identity,” said Lama.
Actor Shiva Shrestha, who participated in the painting workshop, remarked that painting will play a big role in making the nation known. He said, “I was even happier to hear that today's painting will be kept in a museum in Germany. This is the way to introduce the nation to the world.” Shrestha added, “From the national flag to Gautama Buddha, the world is now recognizing Nepal. We should all be proud.”
Similarly, program coordinator of the workshop, famous painter Jaya Sharma said that because of these kinds of workshops, new ideas and new creations can be shared with each other. She said, "It is a matter of pride for Nepal Delphic to give me the responsibility of coordinating this program. Most of the programs were held only in one genre, but Delphic has included all genres of art in one platform. This is important for Nepal.”
Likewise, Secretary of NDCN, Surya Bahadur Raskoti said that art and culture is a beautiful heritage of Nepal and this workshop has been organized with the aim of introducing the art and culture of Nepal to the world.
