One caught with country-made rifle

KHOTANG, August 6: Police have arrested an individual for illegally possessing a homemade gun in his house in Aiselukharka Rural Municipality-3 on Wednesday. The house owner has been identified to be 54-year-old Nim Sangay Tamang.

KHOTANG, August 6: Police have arrested an individual for illegally possessing a country-made gun in his house in Aiselukharka Rural Municipality-3 on Wednesday. The house owner has been identified to be 54-year-old Nim Sangay Tamang.


During the house search, a team of District Police Office (DPO), Khotang, recovered a single barrel country-made rifle, 250 grams of gunpowder, 250 grams of soda used in making the gunpowder, 25 pieces of glass shrapnel, 34 pieces of stone shrapnel and three batteries that were used to make the shrapnels.

A team of police personnel led by Police Inspector from Area Police Office in Aiselukharka arrested Tamang along with the rifle. 


According to Inspector Sagar Shah, Information Officer at the District Police Office, the district court has decided to remand the case for seven days while keeping Tamang in custody for further investigation.
