KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Following a vertical split within the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) after the dissolution of the House of Representatives(HoR), the two rival factions – one led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and other led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal – are busy in showing their strength in different parts of the country.

Both the factions within the party have been organizing a series of mass gatherings, protest rallies and demonstrations across the country in an apparent bid to show that they are stronger than the rival faction.

On Saturday as well, the Oli-led faction of NCP is organizing a mass gathering in Chitwan-- the home district of Dahal--, while Dahal-Nepal led faction is organizing a similar gathering in Dhangadi.

Party leaders and national figures within NCP have been making uncivilized, rude and at times offensive remarks against each other following the dissolution of the lower house of the federal parliament.

PM Oli is scheduled to address the gathering in Chitwan today. This is the second time that Prime Minister Oli is addressing the public outside of the capital following the dissolution of the parliament.
