KATHMANDU, Oct 1: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has accused CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal of becoming the main strategist behind the UML party split. He also appreciated the choices of Deputy Chairman Bhim Rawal and other leaders for not taking part in Nepal's plan to split the party.
Presenting the political report at the party’s statute convention on Friday, Chairman Oli said that the decision of the party members to not take part in Madhav Nepal’s plans to split the party was a welcome move.

He also said that the contribution of Ram Bahadur Thapa and other members, who chose to stay with the CPN-UML despite their CPN (Maoist Center) background was positive as they stood in favour of maintaining the party’s unity. He further claimed that the court, election commission and the Speaker of HoR had played a vital role in the split of the UML.
