KATHMANDU, April 18: Separate teams of police from three different Area Police Office (APO) in Bara district have arrested five individuals in possession of a total of 367 kilograms of marijuana.
Based on special information, a police team mobilized from the Area Police Office, Simara, stopped and searched a mini truck (Na 5 Kha 2504) heading from Hetauda to Birgunj near Bajani, Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City-3 at around 11:45 pm on Thursday. During the inspection, 305 kilograms of hidden marijuana were found, and three individuals were arrested in connection with the case.

Those arrested include the truck driver, Rajan Lama of Makwanpur, a passenger named Ishwar Lopchan, and Jeevan Thokar, who was involved in the transportation of the drugs.
Similarly, a police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Parsauni, Bara, arrested Pawan Kumar Sah of Khutwa, Parsauni in possession of 2 kilograms and 140 grams of marijuana, which he had hidden and was allegedly distributing from his own house.
On the same night, a police team deployed from the Area Police Office in Simraungadh, Bara, arrested Rajbihari Kumar along with 60 kilograms of marijuana. He was caught while attempting to smuggle the marijuana to India through a field in Musahari Tole, Pacharauta-1.
