Kathmandu, Oct 6: Oktoberfest, a renowned festival originally celebrated at Munich, Germany and now popular in many countries across the world, was celebrated in Nepal too from October 4 to 6. Oktoberfest Nepal 2013 was organized by Hotel Radisson at its premises, the ambience of which resembled the Bavarian culture.

On the first day, famous German band, Tonihof-Buam performed, enthralling the audience with their traditional tunes. The Oktoberfest song was also performed. The second day saw the performances of Sign Band, a Nepali band, along with the German band.[break]

International beer brands like Carlsberg, Tuborg and San Miguel, and the famous local brand Gorkha, were served in the special Oktoberfest mugs at the three-day event, while a specially appointed German chef prepared traditional German delights for the participants. Many game stalls and exciting prizes were the other highlights of the event. The guests also enjoyed the Bavarian dance.

A musical night on Sunday with the German band playing fusion with the popular Nepali band Kutumba, marked the end of the Oktoberfest celebrations.
