Officials of CTC Mobile Bazar -- the organizer of the event -- say that around 200,000 visitors have already visited the expo until the fourth day. Similarly, participating mobile phone companies have done business worth Rs 20 million until Monday, it said.
"We have been receiving thousands of visitors every day and the number of visitors is increasing every passing day," Sandip Man Shrestha, president of CTC Mobile Bazar, said, adding: "Mobile companies, through different schemes, have been successfully attracting visitors."
Local distributors and retailers of almost every participating mobile phone brand -- like Samsung, Huawei, Intex Mobile, Rose, BQ, Spice, Sony, Panasonic, Wincum Fly and Videocon -- has offers from discounts to gift hampers.
Among others, Videocon Mobiles is offering a Videocon watch with every Videocon smartphone. Likewise, a free SIM card, with balance worth Rs 200, is being offered with Videocon CDMA phones.
Similarly, Rage Mobiles is offering gifts like laptop bags and memory cards with different models of its mobile phones. Rage is also offering cash discounts of up to 40 percent.
On the other hand, Micromax is offering cricket balls and bags with its mobile phones during the event.
Colors Mobile has been offering cash discounts of up to Rs 100,000, decided through scratch coupons, on its K15, X118, X135, X113 Plus, X114 and K20 models of phones.
Celkon Mobiles has been giving away selfie sticks free with its Q5 and Q455 models.
Birds Mobile, on the other hand, is giving a free T-shirt with each of its handset. The company has also announced prizes like an LED TV and laptops to be decided through a lucky draw that will be held soon.
Keshav Raj Luitel, general secretary of CTC Mobile Bazar, says it has been running a lucky draw every hour for a 55 percent cash back offer for one person of any mobile phone bought during the hour at any of the stalls.
He says the ongoing expo has 100 stalls for mobile phone companies. "Mobile phones ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 100,000 are being showcased at the expo," added Luitel.
