Octogenarian dies in elephant attack

MAKWANPUR, Jan 13: An elderly woman was killed after being attacked by a wild elephant at the Parsa National Park on Monday at around 10:30 am.

MAKWANPUR, Jan 13: An elderly woman was killed after being attacked by a wild elephant at the Parsa National Park on Monday at around 10:30 am.

The pachyderm attacked Maiya Thapa, 80, of Manahari rural municipality-3,Meldanda who was on the National Park premises to cut grass, according to Makawanpur Poice Chief Superintendent of Police (SP) Sushil Singh Rathore. “She died on the spot,” Rathore added. 


After being informed about the incident, a team from Area Police Office, Newarpani reached the site inspected the scene.
