CHITWAN, Dec 18: An old woman has died due to an elephant attack in Chitwan. The 78-year-old Bhagirathi Subedi of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-28, Andrauli, died last night.
Wild elephant kills elderly in Jhapa
She was seriously injured when an elephant came and attacked her at around 8:30 pm on Saturday night while she was sitting by a fire in her house. District Police Office, Chitwan, said that she died at Bharatpur Hospital at 10:25 pm while undergoing treatment.
Locals said that the elephant also damaged the rice kept in the godown of Bharat Gautam in Bharatpur 28. Lately, wild elephants are seen in the vicinity of the park. Wild elephants come to the wild settlement areas to mate with domesticated elephants. These elephants have been attacking people as well.
