BAITADI, Jan 24: Obstetrical services remain closed since a year at the Talladehi health post located at Purchaundi Municipality-9 in the district due to shortage of water.
The service had to be called off since the water supply to the health post was disrupted since a year, said Janaki Bohara, who is the auxiliary nursing midwife at the health post.
"Minimum 50 litres water is required for cleaning when a woman gives birth. There was acute shortage of water at the health post after the supply was cut off and we were compelled to close the obstetric services," Bohara explained.
Closure of the service has caused a problem to the expectant mothers around the area and they are compelled to deliver at home. So far, 30 women have delivered babies at their houses while 50 women have taken the services at other health posts. RSS
